McDonald’s to Give Free Breakfast to all Colorado 3rd – 5th Graders Before TCAP Assessment Test Tuesday, March 6

WHAT: Colorado McDonald’s restaurants will be giving a FREE breakfast to 3^rd – 5^th graders before they take their TCAP Assessment Test the morning of March 6th. In an effort to help improve scores, McDonald’s is providing a free Egg McMuffin and milk or Minute Maid orange juice to children 11 and under accompanied by a parent/guardian.

The FREE breakfast is part of a daily allowance of nutrition and energy. The Egg McMuffin and 1% milk jug provides 400 calories, 14.5 fat grams, 26 grams of protein and 0 grams of trans fat. The Egg McMuffin and small Minute Maid orange juice provides 450 calories, 0 fat grams, 20 g of protein and 0 grams of trans fat.

McDonald’s owners, who are community member and parents themselves, know the importance of starting the day with a nutritious breakfast, which many children do not have before they start their school day.

While the TCAP test is given on a variety of dates for different age groups in the Spring months, March 6 captured the most 3^rd – 5^th graders in the largest school districts in the state.

WHERE: All Colorado McDonald’s locations

WHEN: Tuesday, March 6, 2012, 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM

WHO: 3^rd – 5^th Graders, accompanied by a parent/adult

Students must be accompanied by a parent
No group redemption
While supplies last
Child must be present for offer
No substitutions

The Colorado PTA 91st Annual Convention kicks off on Friday, April 20, 2012, and COPTA.org has begun posting resources.

Find the Convention Exhibitors Packet online today, and look for more information and forms as the convention nears.

Reflections theme for 2011-2012 announced

Each year, the PTA Reflections Program challenges students to create art inspired by a specific theme. Themes are selected from hundreds of ideas submitted by students to the PTA Reflections Program Theme
Search.

This year’s theme has been chosen: “Diversity Means”

Strive for 105

Colorado PTA’s membership theme is: “Strive for 105”

The Colorado PTA will turn 105 years old in 2012 and the Board of Directors is imagining every PTA having at least 105 members. To help encourage the effort, the following campaign is announced:

Units with the following number of paid members by the deadlines will be entered into a drawing for a “Buy One Get One” registration for the annual Colorado PTA Convention, April 20-21, 2012.

August 31	5 or more members
September 30	25 or more members
October 31	45 or more members
November 30	65 or more members
December 31	85 or more members
January 31	105 or more members

NOTE: Units must be in good standing and dues must be submitted to Colorado PTA by the deadline noted to be eligible each month. Units with double the required members will be entered twice!
